Historic salt mine "Hallstatt"
The NHM Vienna has established an outpost at the historical salt mine in Hallstatt with a view to making the archaeological
past come alive for school children. At the mine and at the High Valley, the pupils use faithful replicas of prehistoric tools
to get a first-hand feeling for the living and working conditions of miners from that period in Hallstatt.
