Collection Management

The mammal collection is an important resource to promote scientific research.

It is visited by scientists from all over the world as well as local students and researchers to conduct their investigations. Apart from mammalogists veterinarians, anthropologists and palaeontologists use the collection.

Access to the collection is possible by prior written or oral appointment.

Loans can be arranged in certain cases by special agreements ? a personal visit to the collection is preferred.

The applications of any invasive methods to any specimen under research require the written permission of the curator. Under special circumstances skin samples for DNA-based studies may be provided. Request for these samples should be made in writing to the curator with detailed descriptions of methods applied and aim of the study, for details see the following guidelines:
