I am interested in various aspects of crustacean evolution. This includes phylogenetics, systematics, phylogeography, population genetics and integrative taxonomy. In my studies, I employ and combine various molecular genetic techniques (e.g., DNA barcoding, ddRADseq, transcriptomics) with morphological data. I work manly with freshwater Branchiopoda, but also deep-sea Peracarida (especially Amphipoda) as well as other organisms.
