Fine dining meets fascinating exhibitions in one of the world’s most important museums!
In the historic setting of the Dome Hall, the NHM Vienna serves up a culinary treat every Wednesday from 7.00 p.m. The cultural highlight of the evening is a guided tour “Above the rooftops of Vienna”, which takes diners through the museum and up onto the roof of the museum offering fantastic views of Vienna’s beautiful city center.

Have the museum to yourself for a night along with a program of activities – one thing’s for sure, there won’t be much time to sleep!
Welcome drink, live show with NHM Director General Christian Köberl in the Digital Planetarium, gala dinner with live music by the "Joe Gridl Trio" in the Dome Hall, torch-lit tour of the collections with a glass of sparkling wine on the roof of the museum overlooking Vienna city center, sleeping in the Dinosaur Hall, and breakfast in the café in the Dome Hall.

In the Mezzanine of the Natural History Museum Vienna there is a series of 15 free-standing exhibits from the fields of mineralogy, geology, and anthropology designed especially with blind visitors to the museum in mind. This hands-on trail providing information about the objects and their history was created and tested in cooperation with a class from the Austrian Federal Institute for the Blind, a school for blind and visually impaired pupils.

 

Descriptions of the individual exhibits and a map of the trail are available in braille from the information desk. These texts can also be listened to using an audioguide.
