Robots on the wooden track

The archaeological excavations of the department of Prehistory in the salt mine in Hallstatt reveal many outstanding finds – like the oldest staircase ever found in Europe (more than 3000 years old).
A high-resolution laserscanner is documenting the prehistorical tunnel and the finds. A perfect documentation is very important, as the tunnel will be closed again after a few decades.
This use of modern technology is possible thanks to the cooperation with Salzwelten GmbH and Salinen Austria AG.
