Bronze Age Cinema

Four hundred meters below the earth’s surface, deep in the mines of Hallstatt, lies a new attraction combining archaeology with state-of-the-art projection techniques. A custom-made display case showcasing Europe’s oldest wooden staircase in its original location forms a spectacular backdrop to this Bronze Age Cinema, where a short documentary and an animated film tell the story of salt mining in Hallstatt 3000 years ago. A multimedia experience fusing “real” archaeological finds with modern technology.
