Science&Art@School is an education and outreach initiative organized world-wide by the CMS collaboration at CERN.

In March 2017, on the occasion of the exhibition The beginning of everything. About galaxies, quarks and collisions, workshops for schools were organized at NHM Vienna. Lectures in particle physics and insights into scientific methodology were given, as well as a guided tour through the exhibition. Michael Hoch, a scientist and artist working at CERN, inspired the students to approach these complex scientific topics from a creative angle.

Assisted by their art and physics teachers, the students continued their work in the classroom and produced a wealth of different interpretations of particle physics.

The creative output of this project will be displayed in the lecture hall of the NHM Vienna from June 10 to 12, 2017.
