This event is held in parallel with the EGU 2018 General Assembly, a scientific meeting that brings together over 14,000 geoscientists from around the world. While the EGU General Assembly has been happening in Vienna for a number of years, this is the first time we are organising an event for the wider public in the city. The lecture aims to provide insight into a topic in the Earth, planetary and space sciences of interest to a broad audience, bridging the gap between the scientists at the Austria Center Vienna and the local Viennese community.

The EGU would welcome feedback from the public attending the lecture. If you have comments about the event, or would like to suggest new topics and formats for future lectures, please write to the EGU Media and Communications Manager Bárbara Ferreira at media@egu.eu.
