Long Night of Research

Friday, 24. May 2024, 17:00 Uhr – 23:00 Uhr | NHM Event
Attention – this event has already
passed!
As part of the Long Night of Research we open the museum's gates to a fascinating journey through the
world of taxonomy. But what is taxonomy even? Put simply, taxonomy is the science of classification of living organisms. It
helps us to understand and bring order into the diversity of nature.
Try out our different info points and get talking to researchers first hand in the exhibition halls or on Deck 50. There, you can find out yourself how you can use the tiniest details to identify and distinguish species from one another. Or you let yourself be inspired by exciting images from the world of taxonomic research on our 12 meter long LED wall. Join our guided tours that take you backstage in the museum and learn how our collections are true archives for the future. There is so much to experience and discover!
