Raoul Schrott's book Erste Erde is the result of dealing intensively with today's knowledge about the world. Ranging from the formation of our planet to our perception of humans, it can be characterized as a great attempt to literarily exemplify our cosmos by individuals and their life stories. Thereby, various poetic forms are creating a broad narrative panorama.

In the second part, Raoul Schrott summarizes our current knowledge in non-fiction style. By linking poetry and science, he is designing a modern counterpart to Alexander von Humboldt's "Kosmos." A more entertaining way of satisfying one’s curiosity about our Earth can hardly be imagined.
