Marc Abrahams, founder of the Ig Nobel Prize ceremony, will present the first official Ig Nobel Prize event ever held in Vienna. The event takes place on at Tuesday October 6, 2015, at 6:00 p.m., at the Natural History Museum Vienna.The Ig Nobel Prizes celebrate research that makes people LAUGH, then THINK.Three Ig-Nobel Prize winners will be present.Elisabeth Oberzaucher, anthropologist at the University of Vienna, was just awarded the 2015 Ig Nobel Prize in Mathematics for research on the sexual prowess of a 17th-century Moroccan emperor and how many children he could have possibly had.Ludwig Huber (VetMed Wien/Uni Wien), who received the 2011 Ig Nobel Prize for physiology, will discuss his study "No Evidence of Contagious Yawning in the Red-Footed Tortoise".Also present will be members of the team from Slovakia who won the 2015 Ig Nobel Prize in Medicine for research on the health effects of kissing.Museum director Christian Koeberl will unsuccessfully attempt to maintain some sense of decorum.Location: Natural History Museum Vienna, lecture hallFree entry.
